Daully rear hub alignment pins

Okay fellows, dad and I are finally repairing his one truck he bent the frame on a few years ago. We cut the frames in half and then grafted the good rear section to our frame. We welded and then boxed it in. Well since it buckled his rust free almost mint single wheel box he wants to convert it to a dually. We will be adding the rear, front hubs, and a nice flatbed I bought on a D350 a few years ago. I started by rebuilding the rear. Upon inspection I found on one side the lugs were worn. I then noticed the alignment pins was previously broken off. I believe that caused the issue. I looked in my Mopar parts book and that pin isn't listed. Does anyone know a source for them? Or does anyone have an old rear dually hub they would be willing to sell the pin out of? I cant be the only one who has had to replace the alignment pin. Thank you

I have to ask. Do they actually serve a purpose other than aligning the valve stems? I thought they served a wheel stabilization purpose but now I am reading that they only align the VS's 180*. If that's the case I wont even mess with it. I noticed the lugs were worn so I though that was why. Maybe the nuts were accidently not tightened causing the damage.

They clock the coins so they are in step. They happen to clock the valve stems 180° in the process, which doesn't really make any difference. It's just the way the geometry stacks up.

If you had the coins out of step, I think it could be real hard on the studs, and probably also quite dangerous.

If you pay attention mounting the wheels, they are not needed. Once the wheels are mounted the alignment pins add nothing to the structure.

I do believe the alignment pins also center the wheels over the studs. That is why the centering procedure is only required on the front wheels of a DRW since the front hub doesn't have an alignment pin in it.
