I am tired of getting stuck with my 4x4 two wheel spinning wonder. I want to put a locker in the rear, preferrably a Powertrax. I was wondering if anyone knows the axle diameter and spline count on the Dana 71 or should I start looking for a Dana 70 and Dana 60???

 

never heard of a dana 71 with the 3.07's dana 61 front and 70 rear for sure as far as i know (35 spline) carrier is diffrent on the front randys ring and pinion has a carrier to convert the front for 3.54-4.10s and they told me that the rear will go from 3.07-4.10
call them or some other gear specialist they can explain better than me

Ive seen 71s referred to quite a bit. I think thats what I have.

 

I think that all 3spd auto trucks have the Dana 71 rear. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 71 has the pinion offset differently than the 70 to somehow compensate for the 3.07 gears. I know that I can knock the axle out in a matter of a few minutes but I thought someone might know off the top of their head spline count and diameter.
