Dana 70 yoke/u-joint strap bolt TAP SIZE?

Anyone know what size tap is needed to clean the threads out on our rear D70 yokes? Somehow that rust, mud and dirt built up over the years from a rear end laying outside makes it a pain to thread in the bolts that hold the u-joint straps. I plan to go to NAPA in the morning for one, thanks.

That sounds almost right.

Don't you have any of the cap-screws that go with the yoke for comparison ??

Take an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel and make some incisions along the length of the bolt. It wont cut metal for new threads, but it will clean out the rust and junk in there.

On second thought, that bolt might be a little small for that.
