dana 70 bearings to pack or not

dana 70 bearings to pack or not

Do I need to pack the bearings on a dana 70 FF .

When working on rear wheel beargings i always clean then repack them with good wheel bearging grease.[ps i use syn. fluid in mine] coat seal lip and spring area of seal also.

Thats what I'd do, wheel bearing grease and syn oil.

Yes grrease axle bearing in all full floating rear axls(60,70,80 danas) If you dont the bearing will burn up before the oil ever gets there and will probably destry the housing before you now theres a probem.

When we do them we put a little bit of grease in them (not packed full) and also on the seal to lube it and then take and park the truck on a sidehill for about fifteen minutes a side......this let's the oil run into the axle tubes and lube the bearings.

The grease won't hurt.....it just melts when the oil mixes with it
