to add, calipers twice the size, lining 3 times the size, 17" wheels, im still vacuum assit and it works awsome, hydro better, they say they lock up 44" tires at freeway speed, not sure how 2 wheelers can option this retro

Precisely. Brakes like that could rip the suspension off these trucks.

I've kicked this around some myself... its too much red tape, fees, and checks to run a medium-duty truck around here - despite non-commercial use. OTOH, nobody cares what you're doing with a 1ton so long as you keep up appearances. The F450/550 and gm 3500HD are still easy to pass off as '1tons'.

The Chevy 1-ton suspension/brakes is what Dodge should have borrowed for these trucks. Proper A-arms. No load-bearing rubber parts. Same big brakes as a Dana 60 front.
