Cool cummins re-power into 79 GMC

I'm re-powering my 79 GMC with a 91 non inercooled cummins.
I know it can be done, so many others have done it so I'll give
it a shot. Any body here done that yet? I ordered all the things
I will need from cummins, but I was not able to find any motor
mounts and so I will fab those up. If any one knows where I
can get these allready made up please let me know. Plus I am
parting out the 91 Dodge the cummins was in. Its in the classifieds. I hear you have to move the trans back and cut the frame to fit the AC pump, or use a hub drive from the fan. I'm not planing to use the hub drive, thats one more belt to maintain. If there is any info uall can help with that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Wild Bill

Use the Hub Drive Its No big deal Mine works like a Champ. www.fordcummins.com Makes Motor Mounts for Chebbies so they should have them for the GMC.

I have a CTD in my 86 Chevy Crew Cab Dually. I had to do a 1 1\2 inch body lift so that I would be able to use the hood. Also had to do a little mod on the floor to get tranny to clear. I fabbed my engine mounts. Moved the engine forward so I could use tranny crossmember. Only Had to trim front crossmember slighty to clear belt. Chevy p/s res will bolt to Dodge pump so you can use Chevy lines. DO NOT Run a fan on mine temp stays around 160 runnin down road. Piddlin around in pasture it will reach 195-200

5h, just wondering, have you thought about putting an electric in to supplement? You ever do any pulling? Do you run an inner cooler? We just got a Dodge crew cab to convert next year. Karen wants to drive it as much as I do. We might need a 2nd truck after. As hard as I looked for fairly solid Crew cabs, It might be quicker to convert a Chevy.
