Crew Cab progress

Figured I'd post up the progress on my 84 Crew cab.
Here's what I started with.

My crew and lifting the cab

This is going to be my wife's pickup so she's been helping out a little now and then. The kids are better at running off with my tools. I just found one of my 1/2" wrenchs that's been missing for a week out in the sand box.

Stripping the paint

I've been using Air plane stipper to get most of the paint off. It works pretty good and there isn't much to sand once it's scraped off.

Here's where it is as of today. Sorry for the bad pics, but between my wife and daughter I can never find the 3 digital cameras we have so I took these with my camera phone.

Tapped off and ready for primer

all primed

Door jams painted and primer wet sanded. Just in case anyone is wondering wet sanding sucks.

It'll be sitting for the rest of the winter. Early next spring a start stripping it back down to get the motor and interior in. The motor will be getting resealed and I'll be pulling the head to see if it's cracked. Then it'll get the usually treatment. The wife already has the rims and tires that she wants picked out. Just have to get a few other little interior pieces sorted out and that will be good to go. Trans (47rh) is going in for a rebuild and will have a suncoast billet conv, VB, and Sonax billet input. So far it's gone pretty good, its' just the amount of $$$$$$$$$$$$$ it's costing me with everything she keeps thinking she needs. For what this thing is costing me I could have paid off the mega cab. Oh well, it gives me something to do and she's happy. And everybody know if mama's happy papa's happy

There are more pics if anyone is intersted.

It'll be a little while before the M gets any paint. Need to rebuild the motor first. Just got done doing the 455 though.

Thanks, my wife actually picked it out since it's going to be hers. It's called amber fire pearle.

Nope. 93 CTD with a stretched cab and frame. I've got another post on here with pics of it.

Thanks. I really like the green one to but the wife hates it. I've got a guy that's supposed to be coming to pick it up this weekend. I guess I dont really need 5 pickups .
