Converting A/C to 134 and trying to find wiring problem??????

Since its getting a little warm now I want to go ahead and convert my A/C over to 134a and get it working. Anything special to do in the conversion? I bought a full conversion kit but wanted to make sure.

Also, when I select A/C my WIF, Brake, and WTS lights come on. I guess it has something to do with fusable links or something. Any ideas? I want to get it going ASAP because Houston is worse than Death Valley in the summer.

Sounds like the HVAC diaphram(s) are leaking or control switch or hoses have bad leak. This drops vac and lights come on. Does it do same thing when request heat?? Otherwise you have elecrical backfeed(lost ground) from something.

That's weird with the lights. It has to be the ground or a short to ground, A vac leak would only turn on the brake and abs lights I think. If you have an aftermarket radio, that could be wired wrong (maybe a ground hooked into your ac wiring). Feedback could account for it. At any rate, I would check any aftermarket stuff by unhooking it and checking if the lights still come on. There is another option for your AC. I know a lot of people run 134A (including myself), but our trucks were never meant to be converted to 134A. If you check the service bulletins from Dodge our trucks are not listed. Our condensers are really to small to handle 134A efficiently. Another option is to use Duracool refrigerant. It is much better for the system and actually cheaper to install than 134A. Here is a site with some info http://www.gmcws.org/techcenter/TC41.pdf . If I redo mine it is definitely what I will use. The info is at the bottom of page 3.

Its a electrical issue, my power window and blower didnt work till I ran a new power wire to them. Maybe I can just direct wire my compressor to the A/C switch with a fuse of course. The A/C system is still holding good pressure but when I pushed in the valve to check alot of rust color came out, so I need to purge the system really well.
