Conflicting injector info

Hi,

I called some vendors who sell upgraded injectors for my 92 Cummins. One place said they sell Marine 370's. Another place said Marine 370 won't fit and they offer only 190's and POD's. I wrote to DDP and Ross said they offer Stage 3 and 4 for my truck. I am leaning towards the 190's cause I don't want a ton of smoke.

So will 370's fit my truck and how much do they smoke?

I am very happy with the power of my truck but seem to be insane and can't leave well enough alone.

Thanks Dean

Dean,

The 370s are designed for the 2nd generation ('94-98) 12 valve engines and will not work on your rig unless someone has swapped engines to the newer design. Go with the 190s.

I have the DDP stave 4's. I only have maybe 1000 miles on them so far, but they are awesome injectors. Not too much smoke for the amount of power!

I'd say you're looking at a 25 horsepower increase with the 190's... just a guess. I have the non intercooled injectors with bigger nozzles and my pump is maxed. I wish I had bigger ones. These aren't enough for anything more than what I have already. i don't have any troubles with EGT's either. The last mods planned for awhile are the HTT stage 4 and an old smokey fuel pin. That makes for some good speed on a light 2 wheel drive but as far as dyno numbers are concerned... I'm going to need some bigger injectors to make anything impressive.

My opinion... get something bigger than 190's, you'll be disapointed

Thanks for the responses.

I have contacted a few more vendors and I am waiting for some responses. I heard the 190's are good for 30 hp or so. I sorta want more power than that.

I got the 190's and honestly was a little disapointed, at the time I didn't know about the DDP stage 3 or 4's and wish I would have held out for them.

anyone have anymore info on the 210's. they're on ddp's site, but i haven't seen anyone running them. i've got a set of pod's new in the box, but i think they'll be to hot for the towing i do.i think the 190's wont be enough. after hurricane season is over i will put the htt stg iv, 16cm housing, 4' exhaust, pacbrake, ford intercooler, 60 lb springs, 3200 spring, piston lift pump, and whatever injectors i decide on (my spare bedroom looks really cool right now). would just like some input on the 210's before then.

I did finally made a decision. I ordered 370 injectors from New Era Diesel. I had a hard time decideing between the 300's and the 370's. But I figure if I ever blow my turbo I would upgrade that so I might as well get the slightly bigger injectors now.

Thanks for you help

Did you read post #2? Unless you have a p-pump the 370's will not work.

I did read that post. My understanding is the 370's that I am buying are custom cut.

They cost $380 or $390 plus a core charge

Sounds like a set of 370 tips on 1st gen bodies. Expect similar results to POD's.
