Cold startup Vids...Voltage drop/grids cycle
Thanks that was very informative. My "Wait to start" grid heater on my 89 don't come on until it's -9*C, unlike the later 91-93's. My grid heaters still cycle though during the morning warm up.
look on the back of your ECM and there will be a serial number on a white paper tag.ECM's before ser.#
0080000a will not preheat above 15,but they will cycle.they were only on the early built trucks.

Yeah mine is a early unit...I'd already checked.
We had a couple cold days...-14*c and I turned the ignition on...yup grid heater warm up. I wanted to make sure that the grid heaters worked properly.
