changing 205 output bearing
changing 205 output bearing
Can the output bearing be changed without pulling the tcase? If so, how hard of a job is it?
I had a vibration up around 75 mph originally, then after having the trans rebuilt, it started more around 65ish. Well now the output seal is leaking and I can move the yolk up and down a little bit while laying under the truck.
How much movement is too much?
Thanks

Yes I was referring to the rear, oops, forgot to specify. Thanks for the pix BILTIT! Is the bearing pressed on? Do you have to pull the output shaft?
Is that a gear vendors OD? Those things are pretty neat, although I don't totally understand how they work. Kinda like a 2 speed rearend?

internal pump generates oil pressure to engage over/under drive planetary, you need to be moving around 25 mph to engage for a 30% ratio change, with my 5 speed, I get 7-8 useable towing gears, with splits on 2nd 3rd and 5th, they add an otherwise unknown beauty to the backside of the 205. my jeep has 5' of gearboxes, the sm465-203 range box- ord adapter-205 tcase-gv overdrive, 4x4 ratios: 1:1- 2:1-4:1, 7 forward gears on road.
