Changed Lift Pump

My original Lift Pump has been reading 6psi with 103,000 miles and running B100 for the last 3 years. Yesterday when I started it up the reading was 4psi at idle, so I turned the engine off and changed the pump today. The pressure is now 7psi.
What could the problem have been?

Lift pump was probably getting worn out. They only last so long.
