I've got my Wilson Little Wil magnet mount right in the center of the cab. The Cobra cb is mounted on the left side of the ash tray.

Question Fender mount for antenna? who has one?

I am still looking for a CB antenna "fender mount" bracket. Is anyone running one of these setups? I'd like to know what brand makes them and a possible part #.

I made some 90 degree brackets and mounted them in the stake pockets on my old 91 and mounted the antennas through the bracket. Worked out pretty slick

I have a cb and mounted it on the ash tray which still opens and mounted 2 5' antennas on my headache rack which came out really sick. I am gettin alot better reception with two than i did with one. If youve got a headach rack i think that is the ideal place for the antennas.

The po mounted my CB under the glove compartment. Its out of the way, but too far away to adjust when I'm driving, don't mount yours there. My antenna is mounted on top of the drivers side front fender. A bracket mounts in the gap between the fender and the hood. Don't mount your antenna there either, the bracket rubs the paint off the side of the hood. Sometime when it warms up, and I've got some extra time, I'll move the CB to under the radio, and move the antenna behind the cab in the corner of the bed.

I've got a a Wilson 2000 mounted to the toolbox and the cb mounted on an overhead console. My las 93 I had a Wilson 1000 roof mount and the radio mounted to the ceiling. I used a short 2x4 in between the metal roof and the headliner. I've also used a mount that holds the radio at an angle and has v-notches on the bottom that grip on the carpet. Wherever you decide to mount the antenna, make sure its grounded good.

Same here on my personal truck; the ceiling mounting is the most convenient, out-of-the-way, place for the radio, with the antenna(es) being most out of harms way mounted on the mirror(s).

The wife's came with the C.B. mounted in a custom OAK overhead console, way over on the right side; it makes it a little hard to make adjustments, but it is always on 19 and the ***** hardly ever get touched, so it works out okay.

Actually, I can hear mine REAL GOOD, as I have an external speaker mounted right behind my left ear.

An external speaker is money well spent; they sound a lot better than the tinny ones made into the radio.

You might want to look at a 'Geotool' stake pocket mount. I met the guy that invented them at a computer swapmeet in Redondo Beach at least 10 years ago. He said he was a Geologist. When he would go out to the desert or the mountains his regular mounts did not hold up.

He designed this mount for the stake pocket and it's not bad. One big plus, you don't have to butcher your truck for the sake of a mount. The only drilling would be out of sight in the bottom of the stake pocket. They are not cheap, about $75, but they are a clean mount that can hold just about anything should you gravitate beyond CB. Just type in Geotool.
