A/C Clutch repair

Hi Guys, the wires going to my a/c clutch are broken right behind the pulley. I have called the local parts stores but they have nolisting forr just the clutch only the complete unit. Any one out there have any ideas, I haven't tried the junkers yet but will call tomorrow. Also is it possible that any serp drive pulley/cluth will work or are the hold dowm bolts different sizes?
thanks

Not sure about your second question but I do know that autozone cannot get just the clutch either.

If there is any length to speak of, just solder on a longer piece of wire. If you pull the clutch out of the way and remove the coil it should be easier. I did it once on a car I wrecked.

When I was sorting out how to best go about fixing the A/C on the wife's truck, several outlets I checked offered several options.

You can get the clutch assembly alone.

New or Rebuilt compressor, with or without the clutch.

I looked at so many suppliers that I can't remember which ones offered the clutch, and which didn't.

I would first try LEPER's suggestion and try to solder on new leads.

Thanks guys. I soldered on the one lead but then found that there was nothing to work with for the second one. I will have to remove the clutch and try to fish out the wire. thereis not much room there with the rad being so close does the compressor need to be removed and rotated down to do this as I understand there is a snapring that must be removed first and there is no room to get pliers in there because of the rad shroud.

Don't pull the wrong clip if there is any freon in it. Saw a guy pull the one for the compressor seal and he almost lost his eye.

I ordered a clutch from two differant places, and both said it was not available at this time. I ended up ordering the complete compressor and clutch to get it. Hope you have better luck. I was able to unbolt mine and angle it enough to teke the clutch off without unhooking the freon lines, and yes there is a snap ring behind the clutch in front of the pulley, and another holding the coil.
