Busted Knuckle - Help
Can anyone help me find a left hand Dana 60 dodge streering nuckle? They seem to be made out of unobtainium.
I could swithch to Chevy but
1) I would need two of them because the location of the tie rod arm is slightly different
and
2) They don't seem to exist either.
Dedenbear's has chevy replacements but they are like $275 each. I am tempted to find a whole new front axle and part mine out.
This should be simple, dang obsolete parts.
The story I was told was that the PO died while driving at highway speed. Hense, he did not attempt to slow down before leaving the road. The yoke or inner "C" on the other end broke at the the lower king pin. turning the tire, wheel, hub, nuckle, rotor, and spindle free to sail in its own direction. Once it came to the end of the tie rod, something had to give.
When i got my truck (wrecked) mine was broke in the exact same place. The previous owner just welded the tie rod end to it and must have drove it like that. On my slow test run, turning a corner it broke so out came the old bailing wire to limp it back to the shop. The small shop where i bought the truck from sent me a used one for free.
