Brakes

I'm wanting to take the rear wheel ABS valve out of the system. So far I can't find anything to fit the two differant sizes of fittings that is used. Anyone have any idea what or where I could find something that would work. My truck is in the shop right now and hope I can get out tomorrow. THX

cut the steel line and put the size fitting you need on ... use a double flair tool!
or it will leak

THX, The people don't want to do that., and the new valve is over two hundred bucks. I'll have to find someone to manufacture something. THX again for the response.

I can understand a shop not wanting to do that. People ask me to do all kinds of strange repairs on their homes. When it comes to gas systems, electric systems, etc. you have to stick by the book. If there was a brake failure it would be on the shoulders on the last competant professional that worked on the brakes. It's also illegal for a certified mechanic to disable a safety system.

I took the valve to a tool and machine shop and he's makeing an adpter for the brass fittings that came out of the valve. I took the valve so he could see how to make the seat in the adapter. It's the most expensive pice of brass I've ever bought. $80.00. It won't even be more than an inch or so lone. Thats cheeper than the valve from Dodge, and I'll never need to get one again. THX for the reply. Ralph...

Well, the tool shop made a fitting out of stainless and not it stops on a dime and gives you nine cents change. All new rotors, drums, master cylinder, shoes, pads and Dot 5 brake fluid. Oh yeah, booster and wheel bearings. Dang sure wasn't cheep. Also no real wheel ABS valve. Back tires will lock with a real hard stop, but with the trailer hooked up should be no problem.
