brake light switch

The other night my brake light switch came out from its location under the dash.Would not stay in there so I was manualy pushing the button when not using the brakes. All of a sudden it just quit working so I figured it just went bad.Went to autozone got a new one and still nothing.Getting power to the fuse and to the pink wire on the new switch but nothing to the lights.Where should I start trouble shooting because I hate wires(and they hate me back).

I can't give you an answer on that, but remember the brake lights and turn signals go through the turn signal switch. Sometimes when they do funky things, that switch is bad.

My brake light switch came out and the lights would stay on, so I put a small hose clamp on the end of it to keep it in its place

I owe you a beer or something man.My flasher for the turn signals was good but the hazard flasher was bad. After a new brake switch and an hour of test lighting it was a $10 flasher that took me 10 seconds to replace(did I mention I hate wires). This web site deserves a nobel prize or something.
