Vacuum leak......heater controls, or vacuum switch. Is the brake light on? Is the vacuum switch connected?

Hey, Martin, heater controls work ( a/c),used cruse control yesterday (some) brake light has been on since i'v owned this o'l truck ( bought in 09) brakes have always been really excellent , can't find a vac., leak ( I can't hear a bear roar),. First thought it was the booster took it off the rod on the booster slid out ,,,along with some ugly rusty ,yellowish liquid, soooo put on new booster,,,no improvement, next ,new master cyl.,,,noimprovement,,next bled all the brakes,,no improvement????? You think the new booster is factory bad, how do I ck it for sure.

Once you get the brakes applied, do they release quickly, or are they "sticky"?

they release,,back to full peddle. The peddle moves down 3/4-1" ,( which feels normal),but it sure takes a hard push to stop,,the peddle stops 1 1/2-2" off the floor( normal) ,,let off any amount ,,,your roll'n. I checked boost to m/c measurement ,even though it is suppose to be pre set on the new boost,,it's good. Sure got me stumped,,for now.

Thanks for reply's

I would bet 100 dollars that the "new" booster is bad. I got 3 bad ones in a row and was convinced that there was no way in the world that 3 of them could be bad, so I searched for other causes. The 4th one finally worked...Mark

The query was to determine if you had some crushed lines somewhere. I've seen folks do that wrapping towing gear around brake lines.

Offhand, I'd say you either have a bad booster or well oiled brakes.
