Which books
I was wondering what books ya'll use for 1) the truck itself 2) the cummins engine.
I usually buy a chiltons (which I have to order on-line)
I havent read the valve adjustment article as of yet, but I will be as I plan on adjusting the valves this weekend sence I have to do the valve cover gaskets.
Thanks again!

You can get a copy of the FSM at Geno's for $89 ~ http://www.genosgarage.com/CoastalDa...D=1823&CATID=1
Then look on Ebay for a Cummins "Shop manual B series engines". (Be sure it includes your year). That will cover the long block.

Chiltons and Haynes are good for the truck. The bible is actually the Cummins B-series troubleshooting and repair manual, published 10-99. Can be had from Cummins for ~$75, or ebay for half to $50+. DO NOT buy an operations and maintainence manual for the Cummins B-series. Waste of time and money. Shows you how to change your oil and check it, duh.
If you get the FSM there is no need for a Chiltons. The chiltons is like a service manual for dummies. Everything you need is in the 93 FSM. Chiltons has like 2 pages to cover the diesel engine.
