Block heater question

I just started plugging my truck in because it helps it idle smoother in the cold on wmo. My question is can I start the truck before I unplug the block heater? I was told that starting the truck with the block heater still plugged in can damage it.

I dont think it will hurt anything. Might hurt the cord if you drive away with it still plugged in...lol

Won't hurt a thing, you can leave it plugged in while running the engine to warm up.

I always leave mine plugged in when its warming up.. it warms it up quicker thats all. I was kinda even thinking about experimenting with it and put a second block heater in another freeze plug hole. Just to see if that would warm it up to a hotter temp or at least quicker.
