Question Blip The Throttle and Dies?

Heading out in a few for the 50mi trek to the truck. We get instant start. We were at what we thought was the right mark on the IP Gear. @TDC it was not to spec on the plunger. Doing 1/8" to the head from the aligned timing case, and IP mark we got it to spec. While I was working at my job he advanced the gear 1 tooth. DID NOT CHECK WITH THE DIAL INDICATOR. Still fires up. We will check that today before doing anything else.

Ever since we got this running last Saturday you hit the key and it rumps to life. It sound likes it is idling fast. (not worried about that at this point.)

This will run/start with or without the electric lift pump running. The "Magic Bullet" FSS plunger is not shutting off the fuel. (Another thing to not worry about that will be a different thread.)

Small leak at the main feed of the IP. Snugged it down didn't see a leak after that. Needs a copper washer on it where the fitting hits the IP body. It will get that today. 18lbs of pressure.

What would cause this to die when you blip the throttle? Disconnected fulcrum?

We have less white smoke coming out of the tail pipe than we did last week.

There is weird information on where TDC should be on the gear. Which mark for the '93 IP? It barely ran on the "E" mark. Went adfvanced 1 tooth to the C mark, it runs great, starts great.

Has died when you blip the throttle at either setting. Plan is to probably go 1 more tooth advanced and button up the timing cover and reassemble the front end and move on after we fix the fueling problem.

THD Maxfueled modified IP. I have not gone inside it to check the AFC or the governor spring or fulcrum.

Your insights and suggestions will be appreciated.

I'd look at fulcrum indexing. Is the fuel control lever resting on the the low idle screw?

I'll trade that Gold Star for a Double IPA.

Glad to hear you figured it out.

Mine wouldn't run on the E. Went to the C and all was good. The advanced it 1 more tooth.
