?? on BD Super B turbo

I'm starting to look at turbos for my 1 ton Ramcharger project. This is my DD & hot rod. I will not be towing anything heavy or a long way.
So far in my 6BT I Have;
Low pressure piston lift pump
DDP 55 LPM/80 hp sticks
The VE will be maxed out
Power stroke IC
3200 spring
PDI 3pc exhaust manifold
-6 fuel feed lines
Will get 4" exhaust pipe
built 518 with converter
D60 front with 355 gears
D70 rear with 355 gears & power loc

Do you think the BD Super B turbo is a good choice? It is based on the S300 with 57MM extended tip comp & a 14 CM housing. They also say it's good to 400 HP. How much HP do you think I'll build with these mods?
Thanks again,
Jim

Richie_O has a Super B on his 89 and with stock NOn i/c injectors and maxed out pump, Powerstroke I/C he still see's pretty high EGt's. but i cant remember.

BTW, that turbo is an S300G .... 57/65/14

I'd go with a Super HX40. 60/65/16

Not big enough. I would shop and ask a lot of questions before buying a turbo from bd.

The turbo from BD is a S300G 57/65/14 but they rivet a tag onto the compressor that says BD POWER, that's it...

I found this out through the BD vendor that used to be on cumminsforum

the super b special is a 6471 13 i believe and is big for the 3rd gen crowd and is a great turbo. the super b single is smaller. it all depends what you are looking for. on the cheap side you could prolly get away with an he 351 off of a 3rd gen or on the expensive side you could spend 1500 or more on something like a 62/65/13 from htt or another big company. if you are putting on an intercooler you will have less pipe beds from the third gen style turbo's becuase the housing points towards the front of the truck not towards the fender.

Get a phat shaft 62. I have the super b an I'm not very impressed with it, it's too small. With 5x14's I can still get over 1200* an when your towing u have to watch it pretty close but there really isn't too much flat ground were I live so that could have something to do with it. I heard that the super b is based off of a s200 cartrige, has anybody else heard this?

I don't think the s300g is based off of an s200 cartridge, I think aftermarket s300s (by Industrial Injection, HTT, etc.) are based off the s300g. The Borg Warner part number for the s300g (super B as BD calls it) is 174430. If you get one from someone other than BD, ask if it has an adjustable wastegate actuator. If it doesn't you can get a turnbuckle from BD to make it adjustable. The cheapest place I have found one is Turbo Supply. I gave $839 for mine, but it is back ordered until June. But, that gives me time to get my head work done before I put the twins on.

Mine is not a " BD " . It the S300G 174430 with the non adjustable wastegate. As far as I can tell its set at around 30 to 32 psi. At 297 hp through a stock 727 auto I can hit 1400 empty with timing at least 3/16's advanced. I talked to the tech at borge warner and he said they are reliable to 45 psi and 425 hp. It may make 425 but will not cool it.
