I think banks is a little over rated now. Back when no one messed with diesels like we do now he did do a lot for hot rodding diesels, and I think he makes a good product but with what we know now his stuff isn't that hot. I'd say go PS intercooler. A lot of people talk smack about the stock intakes but my friend runs 450hp in his fummins using a stock first gen intake horn.

The bolt pattern for the intake is the same for all of the cummins Its just a matter of moving crap around to fit it in.

No I haven't run the banks intake but I think one guy on here has the dual intake. Or he made his own.

Look at their RV section. They list parts for the early 5.9 there. Probably a direct fit.

With a 1st gen you have to make your own injection lines though..if you use the banks twin-ram because he doesnt make them anymore for the 1st gens.

The heater grid is still under there. I forgot to put it in the other post, when I put the Banks on the hood shut fine and from what I could tell looking through the grille as I shut the hood all was well. After I drove the truck I found out the hood must have been just barely touching the top of the horn I had just a small rub mark on the hood. I pulled it off and milled like .060" off the bottom and no more rub. I dont think it rubs hard enough to hurt anything though, if you don't mind the mark on the hood.
