Aurora 3000 Turbo and 6x.016 Injectors.........

My first thought to meet my goal of a daily driver 450-500whp VE Pumped 1st gen was I am going to need compound turbos, but after some research I think the Aurora 3000 Turbo may be my best bet for the price as well as simplicity. Its supposed to spool really fast, be great for towing, and support up to 575whp. Since I can get one of them for just $1200 thats looking much better than the $4000 I was looking to spend on ATS's compound kit.

So with a stock rebuilt IP, electric fuel system @17psi(1/2" lines), Aurora 3000 Turbo, and some 6x.016 injectors I should be set to hit my power goal and still be street friendly right?

I'm pretty sure that's one of the baby s300's, either a 58 or 62/65. I'd go for the full blown s300 62/71. Trying to save or go cheap the first time usually means spending twice in the long run.

Give Jonas or Dave a call over at HTT they can get you in a turbo to fit your build for a good price, 801-304-0700. I agree a 62/71/14 sounds about right to me to, poss. a 64/ give them a call and see what they think..........

Thats a good turbo for the price and will make tons of power, but it would surge like crazy around town and no good for towing. Thats why I was looking at the Aurora, its great towing and around town but still flows tons of air on the top end to support 550+whp.

As for going with the S300 and not going cheap now because I will regret it later, the Aurora isnt a cheap turbo. I've never found one bad review on them and never heard of them blowing apart at high boost. As far as I can tell they are one of the top of the line turbos. I just dont see the need to spend $3k more on a compound set when the single turbo will do all I need.

For the IC upgrade, I have a 2nd gen IC and will be getting some 3" charge pipes. Also I am going to try my hand at machining a custom intake so all 6 cylinders get full use of the incoming air. As much as I'd like to port the head I dont want to do more than new head bolts right now.

For exhasut I found one CRAZY header. It looks like a tuned length header for a toyota supra. Its SS and coated and looks plain nuts. I saw it at Relentless Diesel when I went to the dyno and just knew I needed one. lol The $800 pricetag may look a little high but its supposed to spool quicker and lower EGT's, even from a 3 piece manifold. Either way I like the Hot Rod look and Bling.

You won't tow with 400hp on a ve truck in a single charger. Your cooling system won't take it either.

I'm sure I am a fair bit over 400rwhp and my truck loves to pull. I pull my enclosed 28' car hauler plus vehical (aprox 9000lbs) and it pulls nicely. You gotta watch your foot so egts dont get outta hand but I've pulled it over 600miles and not gotten the engine hot at all. It's all in how you drive.

Last week I put in a 3000 along with a stage III tranny and it runs like a bat out of hell! The 3000 spools up a little quicker but man when you get the rpm's up a little it kicks in like an afterburner!

How loud of a turbo is it? I'm a fan of the loud turbos and it would be awesome to have one that makes tons of power and ear peircing turbo noise.
