I just changed filter, adjusted bands, blew out cooler lines, installed (finally!) my transmission temp sender in its own personal compression "T", and filled back up with Dex III
35 miles and going strong.

When I was researching the same question I searched many threads only to find that it was like asking which hair color on a woman is prettier.
Half a dozen quoted service manuals, updates, etc, etc making arguments for the new ATF/old ATF blah blah blah, so I finally just installed a manual transmission.
Seriously, I gave up and went with amsoil. I wanted synthetic and so far its working fine. Its "one size fits all" basically and made my head quit hurting.

Yet another oil war has begun....
I use AmsOil Universal ATF.
My family has run it in our 02 D-Max Allison for going on 150,000k now and have had ZERO issues with it and of course I run it in my 93 with no issues either.
But its your choice.
I dont wanna tell you how to live your life.

No need for oil war. I think it is more than cooincidence that engines today are running several hunred thousand miles where not too long ago 60k was considered high milage.
Modern trends in metalurgy have made alloys that wear well.
Modern oils have made them run longer as well. When I hear of something new and innovative - in this case amsoil - I will be at the very least the second one to hop on the wagon. Keep the reports coming - I will follow them - perhaps my next fillup will be amsoil.
