Hello, has anyone tried a fitch system on your first gen? Did it improve mileage at all? Thanks http://www.fitchcatalyst.com/automobiles.php

Diesel Power magazine did a write up on it, a few month's back. Can't recall the issue # off hand. Bottom line from the article was that it worked. I still don't buy it though. It seems kinda like those engine restore pellets, that JC Whitney sells

WOW, I went to work yesterday and noticed diesel at $4.54. When I got off work it was $4.79. It might be worth spending the $300 if I could get a few mpg more with a fitch. later

the way i look at it is we all gotta have it. diesel used to be 80 cents a gallon and when it went to 2 bucks a gallon we felt like the world was gonna end because diesel was so expensive. Well here it is at almost 5 bucks a gallon and i no that the only thing i changed is the random worhtless trips to town. I still drive abotu the same amount because the way i look at it is that i dont care. I like drivin my truck and 8 dollar diesel wont stop me. just me .02

I looked into it also and read that if the devices worked like they advertise that all the automakers would have them installed when they built the vehicles. Some studies have not had enough research to verify that they work, there are too many variables that affect the fuel mileage of a vehicle and statistical variations can account for the fuel improvements they state.
Just my opinion.

I have one but changed two other things at the same time (ATS manifold and Airdog system) which did seem to make mileage go up about 1-1.5 mpg.

the marine corps has them on all the hummers, or at least everyone ive seen. no noticeable difference, but with a vehicle that weighs over 11,000lbs, and with a crappy 6.5 detroit, that you have to dang near keep it to the floor in 3rd to hold 60mph, its probably not a good reference point. hummers get about 5-8 mpg iirc?

I did read the diesel power mag where they tested it but I'm not sure I buy it because driving style can easily effect your mpg so it would be hard to get a good solid test because some days you might drive more aggressively than others and after you install devices to increase mileage you may also be driving more economical so its hard to get a good solid test result.
