You can still have a cool looking truck that you can use.

You can still use a lifted truck just fine. Might not be able to pull a fifth wheel, but who cares? I don't even have one. And I'll bet the semi tires will handle a lot better than any of my trucks with big wide 38s or 40s.

And you can always have more than one first gen ya know. One is never enough.

One concern i have is for your trans... once i went to big tires the trans failed in my ramcharger... once my friend went to big tires in his chevy he developed a case of gap gear. I think the auto would handle it better than a manual if it was beefed up a little.

I have a ramcharger with the 727 and 38's and have no problems with the tranny.

I also run 38's and 40's on my blue 1st gen with the NV4500, no problems there either. And I'm still running the 3.55 gears and pulling car trailers with no sweat.

What is with people??!!! The topic is easy to read isn't it??? If you don't like 22.5's move on to the next thread. He didn't ask for negativity. Some people like them, some don't.... Having said that, I am running 22.5 Alcoas and like them. AND I USE MY TRUCK TOO! I tow regularly. They do ride a bit rough but heck it is a truck. I have a 6" lift but personally think an 8" looks better. But it sure feels good to not worry about buying rubber for 150k miles or so. But as previously stated in time all that weight will take it's toll.... But screw it, I enjoy all the looks on peoples faces..... I say have fun with your truck and dont listen to all the negative nancys.

People can be negative if they want to as long as they keep it civil. It's your truck, I guess you need the attention.

The tires will add a lot more rolling weight to the braking system, and some people complain about their brakes now.

I would make sure your brake system is in perfect working order including stainless steel lines instead of rubber and I would convert the booster to a Hydra Boost system, you will not only have superior braking but it will feel like air brakes as well.

I have seen so many lifted Toyotas with super humongous off road tires and they still have the stock brakes.
