Communication between humans is so difficult compared to dogs. I write down information in an email and you get 3 people to read it, and 3 people misconstrue it's intent. Same goes on here. One person says "hey the sky is blue" and someone else reads into it that there's something wrong with that. Makes me laugh sometimes, and frustrates me silly otherwise.

Texting is something that I wont do because of the "error factor". Hard enough to talk to people in person without having my thoughts misread, but at least I can raise my eyebrows so someone knows I'm just goofin.

Back to my dog. My 3 dogs know exactly what the other dog is communicating at all times. The biggest dog doesn't take crap from either other dog when the food is out, but otherwise, she's easily guided by the smallest dog to start trouble with other dogs that pass by the house, whereas otherwise, she really wouldn't care. They can get their thoughts across without saying..... or vocalizing very much at all. Too bad we're not more like dogs......

I don't think I could really get into the whole "nose in the butt thing", but from what I gather, they know an awful lot about the other by doing so. I've heard guys whose wives smelled them all over when they came home to see if they was a "cheatin" on them, but that was some wild story, I'm sure....

BTW, Mark... I don't think you're a nut, but I do believe you think "outside the box"........ as I've tried to do for a couple decades now.... Good to have you around.

What a coincidence, I just watched a show about weird weapons and one of them was the Russians trained dogs to take bombs under German tanks, drop them and run back. Everything worked well in training, but in practice, it turned out the German tanks smelled different because the Germans used gasoline. It turns out that the dogs smell the world as we see it and they didn't know that the German tanks were tanks, because they didn't smell like diesel fuel, used in Soviet tanks. The biggest problem was that the dogs would return with the bombs. Nobody could tell me that my Labradors weren't every bit as smart as me. How's that for a setup guys?...Mark

I remembered that we had a thread where DTR Members put down there info to help those that might be broken down in a certain area. I spent a while trying to find it, with the hope BearKiller had entered is info. I did find it, but Bearkiller didn't post his info. I was hoping for a direct e-mail, or phone number.

Hope someone can find out how he's doing.

I realize this isn't much help now but I'll likely be passing through his way in the next couple of weeks. I'll swing by and see what's up.

He posted on 1stgen.org 3 days ago, guess he is ok. Some people aren't favoring this forum like they used to. We lost some key players.
