We sometimes freeze stuff at work either by liquid nitrogen or a Sea King freezer that gets crazy cold and warm up the other item. For bearings we mostly use an induction bearing heater which works very well. An old electric fry pan with engine oil works in a pinch which can be set to 180-200F.

I stumbled oupon this site,thread cause I would like to replace the input shaft bearing on my 360. I cannot remove the shaft cause it is blocked in place by the lower gear. Any insight? It is not bad but since I'm in here I would like to replace it now.
I am doing a frame/ body swap on a 91 2wd to a 91 4wd.

 

The manual tells you how to line the gears up so that you can remove the input shaft. If you don't have the manual, PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward it to you.
