Anyone haulin kids in the Clubcabs?
I was considering buying a clubcab, but only if there is a way to put a seat in the back for the someday to be little ones. Anyone swap in a bench in the back and if so how is working out, especially if you've got carseats?
I have the same dilema when I end up having kids in the next few years. It's fine if the kids are big enough ride in the seat on there own, but definately not for car seats, they wouldn't be stable. I've thought of a bench seat too, but there wouldn't be any leg room at all with as short as the cab is.

What is in the rear in a club-cab is there a jump seat?
Jim, there are two small 'jump" seats that face inwards.........
definitly NOT safe for a child-safety seat......
You'd be better putting the kiddie in the front and having momma ride in back..
Youcould install a bench seat, there would be no leg room, but while they are in safety seats, why would you need it? ....

I thought I read awhile back about someone finding an aftermarket rear bench, IIRC it was from Canada, but I can't find it. I really like the club cabs and I'm not in the position to do a CTD to Ramcharger swap. 2nd Gens are too much and I hate the coil front ends. I have a dilemma here. Pretty sick when you love a first gen enough to figure how kids will fit in. Wife thinks my priorties are mixed up. A dozen trucks later and she still thinks I'm givin it up. They were there first. Honestly, she has put up with a lot.
I can put one carseat behind the driver side seat in the jump seat because this seat will slide fwd where as the passenger seat is stationary and my carseat needs couple xtra inches. However, i have two to haul so im looking to sale mine for a used crewcab.

1 kid in a car seat on the pass. side front and the older one likes riding in the jump seat now. (she dosen't need a boostrer anymore). Only problem now is when Mama rides along as well the stick gets in the way. I need to bend it a bit.

Yes, that's the one I saw a while back. Unfortuneately at the time in my haste I failed to notice the cab had been stretched. Boy I thought it might work. Thanks for that link.
I hate to admit it, but I yanked out one of the jump seats and mounted it behind the center console, facing forward. Then I put in two big eye bolts on either side with big backing plates and lashed down the car seat with 1000-lb racheting binders.
My 3-yr old son loves the "up-high" riding position, and it gives him opportunity to interact with daddo by grabbing my hat or stripping the hair off my arm with his sneaker. He has claimed the armrest as his left foot's ottoman.
A Riverside sheriff saw what I'd done and asked for a closer look, "humph"-ed and let it slide.
Yes, I know, but my wife would rather he ride there than have his carseat in the front passenger bucket. I'd rather the carseat ride in the passenger bucket, but she said it's illegal- in spite of the printed California Vehicle Code that allows it if the rear seats do not face forward.
I married out of my league, so I let her win the little stuff.

When my first kid was in a kids car seat we used to put the car seat in the passenger position right side and we had a console that flips up to a center seat. Mamma would sit there with a lap belt, or we wouldn't wear belts back then (15yrs ago). Any way, I have the console center flip up seat thing in my current truck and want to trade it for the original plastic bucket console, if anyone wants to do the trade. It is the charcoal grey interior, which I'm looking to match. PM me, I'll send pics.
Let us know on that Ferd item. The remounted jump seat would never fly with the wife, as the front seat won't either, that's why Im writing this. If I took out the center console and put a narrow single chair in the rear it would be accessible and have leg room, but my luck is I'll have twins! ( No, not turbos, that isn't in my luck either.)
