I recently bought an 1989 cummins d250, the pictures had a tag linking it back to this forum but have searched and searched and have not found a thing about it. Im told it has a built 518 with custom driveshaft and a cab off a 1988 d150, Truck was well went through and was told that it was built by a man in westchester ny. The truck has barely any rust which i found rather impressive. Also was told it was at one point completely built to a high hp truck and they swapped the motor and threw a stock 6bt back in. If anybody knows anything about this truck please let me know

Welcome to the board...give us some more stats about the truck...options etc. Might job some memories. And a little about your self...what your into, history on cars and trucks etc...get to know the newbie.

 

Did you get it from a young guy? I think I saw that truck a year or two at a pull at the buck in suthern pa. Fresh blue paint? Sprayed the bed too? If its the same truck it's got welded Spyder gears and had big sticks. Sweet sleeper.

The truck is a base model with le dash trim, Pretty basic which is exactly what i was looking for. I have been searching for a diesel to do mild towing etc and simply for fun. Most of everything i was finding in my area was junk but finally found something decent. I have been working on all my own toys since the age of 10 starting with the rebuild of my 1986 honda cr80 and it just exploded from there. Once i turned 18 I had purchased a 01 vw jetta 1.8t 5 speed and started building that until i got to the point of pulling the oem turbo setup and swaping out for a hx35. I worked as a ford mechanic for a year and opted out of that. Now I work as a mechanical engineer. There is alot of vehicles in between such as the jeep in the picture. I am hopeful to at some point build this truck up to 450 hp. Maybe some type of compound turbo setup. I have alot of things I want to do to the truck but like always money is the kicker haha.
