Question Anybody got a bellybutton

I bought my new truck almost two years ago. The truck I retired is still sitting here feeling "left out". 93 D250 with 271K, tranny has about 25k on a quality rebuild, rear end has got new spiders, clutches and steels about 2K ago. Since I haven't sold it I think I might as well have some fun with it. So, who's got a bellybutton? I can afford a few goodies but the starting point, in my opinion, should be gauges and a new injection pump. I also need some advice on a cam. I'm not trying to make a thousand HP but around five hundred would just have to be FUN. Thanks, Rick

Invest in gauges and get a baseline. Tearing into the engine for a cam swap with a goal of 500 hp doesn't make sense. You need (IMO) fire-rings, prof. ported head, s-300/s400 twins, built IP w/14mm head and custom high volume supply pump, and custom EDM's. Ahh, if it were only as easy to do as it is to say...

I keep hearing this. You need a 14mm pump to make 500 hp. You dont!!! You can do it with a good stock pump. It might need some help with a little water, but you can do it. All you need is a good set of injectors and some air to burn it. I think my new goal is to finally get 500hp with a good stock injection pump.

I just need to find out where I am at with this new 14mm pump and then I will put on my good stock 12mm pump and do some tuning on it. I think I should be able to break the 500 hp number on #2.

Dont get me wrong it does take some work/$ to get there, but I think it can be done.

Stomp.. I think that's because no one was making close to 500 until the 14mm pump.. then when the pump came out.. some got to/over 500.. but the pump was only a small part of it... I think it is getting everything to work together..
If you guys look around on here.. there are a few that are in the 450-500 range on a stock pump... NeedMoPower needs to get to work.. and see where his truck is at...
