Any advice on the KDP fix.

hey all,

i bought the KDP kit from source automotive and was wondering if anybody had any pointers and if there was anything i should change while i'm doing this.

dont forget to put locktite on the case bolts and torque them. There are I think 2 bolts under the cam gear, like 5 or 6 total in the case.

yea i just took my old seal out, but i guess the easiest way to put the seal in is with a big edit socket and lightly tapping it with a hammer.

My seal came with a clear plastic guide to help get it back on. I just put the seal in the cover, then put the guide on the shaft (large side on the shaft) then you gently push it on. Of course I learned this after trying it another way and having to buy a new seal!!

Oh, I see you were talking about getting the seal into the cover. Yeah, a socket, or just tap it evenly from both sides,,, carefully.

Use the seal installation tool. It keeps it "square" in the bore. Always follow the instructions in the service manual.

ok thanks guys, just finished it today, i didn't know that tool was a tool and i tryed putting the seal on the shaft and i put a little crack on the yellow part, i tryed super gluing it let it dry, then reinstalled everything and i'll have to see what happens, i think i'll have to get a new seal sometime, but i'll stick with this one for a while.
