Looking at selling my 93 W250 club cab.

225K miles, new bearings in trans, new bearings in rear axle, clean with no rust, LineX bed liner, ect...
What are these rigs bringing now days? I just don't tow as much anymore and don't need a truck around that I only put 2K miles on a year. What I tow now can be pulled with a 1500 and used as a daily driver.
Thanks
Andy

Well some states are really screwy with the salvage titles. you should find someone partin out a truck (on here maybe) and $$buy$$ the title and vin. mine had a salvage title and i happened to find a 1991 gasser truck for 400$ to get the vin and title from. Its all good now
.

Crossy - That sounds like fraud. You can get in a lot of trouble for that. Not worth it...
OP - With a salvage title it's worth less, but presumably you already got paid for the actual (pre-salvage) value then bought it back for chump change. If that's the case, man up and sell it for whatever the value is with a salvage title, which is way less than the $5000 someone mentioned above. I wouldn't buy it with a salvage title for over $1000 - $1500.

no, I bought it with a salvage title. Kansas doesn't really care, neither does my insurance company for that matter.
NO way I will sell it for what you say... Very nice truck. Fresh paint, bed liner, rebuilt components.. heck I have $1000 invested in the trans just this spring.

I just bought an 03 4X4 CC DRW with 180K for 9G's. If you won't take 3500 you may as well keep it. Today's truck market sucks. It's foolish anymore to rebuild anything. You can throw it away for what you spend to repair.
On that note, ask what you want but don't take offense to any low ball offer. It's just all it's worth to that person. But do take #'s so you can call one of them back if you need the $$$.

Its worth 5,000 if kansas doesnt care about salvage title. its all fixed now so it doesnt really matter. Its not like its still wrecked. and it looks like a very nice truck in the pics. its the king of all first gens in my opinion
From http://www.kbb.com
W250 LE 5 Speed - EXCELLENT CONDITION VALUES:
Trade in - $3650
Private party sale - $5500
Same truck - FAIR CONDITION VALUES:
Trade in - $2595
Private party sale - $4105
The problem is however a "Branded title" which automatically rates the truck as "poor condition" From Kbb.com:
Poor:
* Severe mechanical and/or cosmetic defects and is in poor running condition.
* May have problems that cannot be readily fixed such as a damaged frame or a rusted-through body.
* Branded title (salvage, flood, etc.) or unsubstantiated mileage.
Kelley Blue Book does not attempt to report a value on a "poor" vehicle because the value of these vehicles varies greatly. A vehicle in poor condition may require an independent appraisal to determine its value.
Personally, if it was my truck I would run it until the body fell off the frame. These trucks haven't been selling since the price of fuel shot over $4 a gallon. There's been a 98 4WD Dodge Cummins setting on a car lot for 3 months now 8 miles from me. Flat bed, 225K miles, rebuilt engine, NV4500 and it hasn't moved. It's priced at $3200 and was even listed on Craigslist.
Now isn't the best time to sell one.

I hope when you bought it (with a salvage title) you got a really good deal. I won't buy salvaged vehicles, except as parts cars/trucks. Too many issues if you ever need to file an insurance claim on them. You can get insurance, but you might not get much from the insurance company if you get in an accident, regardless of how much money you've put into it.
It is a nice looking truck, though. Good luck finding a buyer who's willing to pay your price.
