guys does the big wire on the back off the alternator send power to the battery,,,and the field wires put power to the alternator,,i also need to know where the fuse links for the alternator is located,,,it just quit charging i have had the alternator checked its good and i put a new voltage regulator on and ran a ground wire from the battery to the regulator and redone all grounds and connectors with dielectric grease,,,im lost guys,,,need help,,,,

 

im going to try and locate the fuse link and check it out,,but if it is a link and i take it out what size inline fuse would be good to replace it with...

 

still cant figure this thing out,,i checked on some of the wireing diagrams but cant really figure it out has anyone here ever had this problem before, new regulater and the alternater puts out perfect but now the gauge dropped and now it doesent chrge the battery,,,its crazy,,,lol,,,any input on the subject will be appreciated,,,,thanks guys....

 

Check in the sticky, there is a write up about replacing the links. My guess is a link problem, but I am no expert. Make sure to check the fuses and fuse panel for evidence of burnt wires or other damage...Mark
