ok can i run a bhaf with the stock intake, or do i have to custom make an intake, or is it just as good to slap a k&n in there and call it done?

Alot of guys have commented on finding gunk on teh turbo impeller after running the K&N, so I wouldnt recommend it...
the outlet on teh BHAF filter is 4", same as the intake. I just slipped the BHAF into the intake and clamped it, has worked for me so far, but a few others recommend a short piece of 4" tubing to reinforce it and prevent the hose from sliding off.

if you search "intake" you will get threads tellign how to build an good intake tube assymbly. The BHAF wont fit in the stock box, so you will have to fab a mount of some sort. Look in teh "stickey" for the "Old Smokey Mount" its pretty simple and took me less than an hour to fab up in my garage.

The stock intake hose has an annoying habit of falling off the BHAF - that's why I switched to the "airflo" intake setup.

I like my K&N. Give it a quick shot of oil couple times a year, put it back in and fuggedaboudit. Never found anything unusual in the turbo intake area, dirt, grime, near white-glove clean both times I checked it so far. Don't plan on cleaning it any time soon. Best part was it came with the truck!

Mine came with a K&N but AFE makes one that I like better. Just don't over oil them. The BHAF will work fine lots of guys run them and like them. I just like having a cleanable filter that I only have to by once. I have heard that the BHAF lasts a good while.
