air dog fuel system
Depends on your level of mechanical know how. I got my whole system installed in a couple of hours, but already had a 0.5" draw straw in the tank. Mine was not a 1st gen specific kit, I sourced a AD165 pump assembly only, so I ordered all the push lock and fittings I would need to do the job from various other sites.
Is it worth it? Yes it is, if you have a big injectors and a modified pump. But you can have something a lot cheaper that will do just fine for 80% of these trucks on the road.

Not real hard to install and really is a one man job if you drop the tank. If you have never had experience with the system I would just allow one full day for install. The instructions were prett decent. Good luck!
Probly not too helpful but only ones I took..

I had to throw one in with my new tires on! Mine hangs a little lower than most but that's where I decided to mount it because of my tranny cooler. It's pretty straight forward install and I even left stock return line from motor.

Oh ya runs like a top. I still have stock injectors and before the airdog the turbo would clean up all the smoke but after the Airdog there is a light haze. Seems to run a lil smoother and I don't have to really worry about bad diesel as much. Only disadvantage I see is it is electrical and relies on your battery and alternator.

OK so, I got mine on a AD165 with a sump and I have to say that it is a nice unit but I ran into some problems. The first was mounting it on the inside of the frame, due to space issues had to modify the mounting bracket for it to work and look properly. Also I ran into problems with small stuff, that just took time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put a fuel pressure gauge on as you do it. I almost didn't and they sent me a 1st gen kit with a 2nd or 3rd gen spring in the pump and I couldn't turn the pump down lower then 26psi. If I did not put one on there could have a been major problems. Easiest way to check is pull the adjustment assembly out and see how stiff the spring is, should have almost no tension. If it is very stiff call them and they will send you the correct one, don't put it in your truck. CHEAP INSURANCE!

. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge yet but my front seal isn't leaking so I guess I'm ok but I have heard even some of the first gen kits have a tendency to run a little on the high side around 17psi.
