Adjusted my tranny linkage

My tranny used to shift into second at about 6mph and third about 12mph which made it hard to pull any trailers, and i adjusted the linkage as followed the sticky, and mow it shifts into second about 18mph and third about 28mph and o/d whenever i flick the switch, do you all think that it is set at a pretty good spot? where do your trannys shift? Tranny is an a518 auto.

Thanks, Kyle

I'm sure there are factory specs but don't know what they are. I've never paid attention to when mine shifts but will and then let you know.

Is that at WOT unloaded or just driving around?

91.5... I noticed the same thing. Beside the VERY short shifts, mine will NOT go down to 1st (appears to always start in 2nd)... was VERY noticable when pulling 8k#! I ended up shifting it manually & running the engine up to 2100-2500rpm before bumping it up another gear.

I think the actual shift points are controlled by the VB (springs/etc/?) which is where I'll head, now that the "tranny overheating issue" isn't an issue...

Just running around mine seems to shift upper teens, upper 20s and upper 30s. So seamless that I had to watch to see...
