[QUOTE=97catintenn;2500619]did you replace the oriface valve aka the expansion valve?

Is the expansion valve still available?

If I get the gauges, what should be the readings? If it comes to that I guess I'll have to open the system and see if there is anything I didn't remove plugging it.

I'll post back the results, thank You.

Orifice tube was extremely dirty, no wonder it didn't cool but a little. I cleaned it well (it was new so I re used it) then I used My compressor to blow air trough the cooler and the condenser or evaporator I always forget which is which, then the lines and the accumulator too. I blew as much air as I could through all the system ( no money for cleaner fluid) and then some more, My compressor is a big one and works fast so I think I got a good amount of what ever was there if not all. I pulled vacuum for a couple hours and I'm checking every hour or so to see if it holds well. If yes then I'll refill and hope it works out.

Guys our trucks don't have an orifice tube, they have an expansion valve. Without gauges it will be hard to diagnosis.

Well after 8oz of oil refill, and 36oz of 134a it blows 20f cold is that good? It sure fells good to have My a/c back, last time I was driving through some bad weather and I didn't have any a/c so the defrost was no help to keep the fog down to a safe level and I decided it was time to give it a fix. Thank You all, I didn't get the a/c manifold gauge bc then I wouldn't have had enough for the refrigerant but I did have one of those idiot gauges (no #'s) that shows how close to high it is, what ever that means but I think I like the way it is now.

Field boss cb Exekiel69 has a Fummins setup. A Ford F350 conversion. Exekiel69 come work on my a/c's with it blowing 20 degrees you did something right. It's tough being young and inexperienced but you will make it, you keep trying more than I can say about most. But you got it working is all that counts. Good job and good luck.

I have a temp gun I pointed it inside the air vent and it showed 27f outside and 20f inside the vent. I had it running for 30 minutes to make sure it was flowing well and it stayed at the same temp all this time.

That explained the orifice tube. He should be able to hang meat inside that truck and it not spoil.

Great you got low vent temps..

You NEED to check pressures. The sub-freezing temperature can lead to freezing which will destroy the compressor. Without pressures, I'd guess you have it overcharged.

I'm going to spend the money on a guage set, so I won't have to worry on anything blowing in the future. Could someone tell Me what are the reading I should see on the low and high pressure side? Anything else I should do while at this?

Thank You.
