93 w250 np205 linkage plate worn out

So, is the "Z" you talk about just the little "dogleg" then? The '93, '92 and '77 205 shifter is exactly the same. Not a full straight pull exactly, just a little nudge to the side. Or maybe I need to crawl under and look closer at the differences between the 90s and the later 70s. In my mind they shift the same...
My main point is for a guy looking at parts to maybe fix a problem...There are 4 versions of the 1st gen 4x4 NP-205 used on the Cummins 1st gen trucks. The linkage, rod, bracket, shifter and ***** are not all the same
Two versions for the autos as the 727 and the A-517 are different.
The Getrag has an earlier style I find on the '89-90s usually. Then a later style with the z gate I usually find in the '92 and '93.
Do they operate similarly? Yes. Do all the parts interchange? NO
That was the point of me bringing it up.
Also it might be worth mentioning, I have all 4 versions of the 1st gen NP-205 shifter assemblies used on the Cummins 1st gens in my shop.

I mistook the "Z" description more literal instead of an exaggerated dogleg. I'm still crawling under the trucks to look and visually see the differences, well, as soon as it stops raining anyway. In my mind they seem the same but I guess like soooo many things, I'm just used to doing it without thinking about it...
