'93 Differences

What all is different in the '93's compared to the 91-92. For example, the odometer has small numbers in it compared to the bigger ones in the other years. Also the key has a wide slot down the middle and when I got spares made the locksmith told me these blanks are hard to get. And last the engine says 230hp and 615 lb/ft cpl 742. I'm not sure if its ever been replaced, the truck only has 160k. When I first got it it had receipts for a stage 2 cam(no mention of manufacturer), high temp pistons and some other odds and ends. People also used to tell me it sounded different than the rest but I thought it was the cam or something. Is this stuff normal for these truck or is mine just "special". This isn't my first 93 btw, the other one was normal.

A 230 horse engine is most likely a marine engine. The stocker would have been a 160 hp engine.

If it is a marine motor and he replaced those injectors with 40hl ones wouldn't he have lost power?

My guess is that the original engine was killed by the KDP and they may have just replaced the timing cover with a used unit of a marine engine.

Then again it could also be a complete engine as the KDP has been known to junk engines.

I think that the kdp may have got it and maybe the guy put marine stuff in it. It doesn't drive like any other 1st gen ive driven either. It has all of its power between 1000-1800 rpm, anything above or below and it hardly pulls. I don't believe its fuel related because its behaved the same with 3 different ip's. Other than that it runs and sounds great. It sounds like an old mack, thats the best way to describe it.
