93 150 LE Body Swap to 91.5 W250 Chassis
I have searched and searched and can't seem to find what I am looking for. I have a 1991.5 CTD W250 Reg Cab 5spd LE 4x4 and the body is pretty rough. I am planning on buying a mint condition 93 150 Reg Cab auto 4x4 gasser from a co-worker and swapping the body and box to the W250 chassis.
Has anyone done this in the past? What issues am I up against? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

iv never done this particular swap but i have read a few things.....your doing to have to use the diesel core support....also you will have to swap the steering column and pedals so the 5spd to work....maybe some wiring issues but....may have to swap the whole dash if you want your WIF light and WTS light etc. to work...other than that it should be a piece of cake...

I just picked up the mint 93 W150 4x4 that I was goning to do a cab swap on my 91.5 W250 4x4 chassis.
After looking at this truck I am tempted just to swap everything from the W250 chassis to this one. There is not a spec of rust anywhere the frame is beautiful and clean. The W250 frame has 3 of the 4 cab mounts that are cracked, the frame rails are really pitted from rust and the rear of the frame is slightly bent.
The truck is not going to be used for towing, just for a daily driver and construction work and hauling materials to and from the site.
What would you do?
Thanks for you help

swapping the driveline into the gasser is doable but probably harder than doing the body swap imo. I guess in the long run as compared to many projects people undertake, neither swap is really all that hard.
If you swap everything into the gasser you'll want to use the axles and suspension from the cummins truck. Basically everything beneath or between the chassis so to speak.

The other thing to consider is that the frame channel may be lighter and smaller than a 3/4 ton frame. Definitely take some apple for apple measurements beforehand. Usually a 1/2 ton frame was around 5-6" high behind the cab and earlier 3/4 and one tons ranged 6-7". Later CTD powered 3/4 to 1 tons had an 8" tall frame behind the cab. Channel thickness and steel psi changed between models too IIRC. I imagine all that was to compensate for payload, towing, and torsional reasons when the diesel engine was wound up.
