'92 trans temp guage hook-up

Well I got the autometer pyro and boost installed, now the trans temp guage!

I see the cooler line exiting the trans already has a 3/8 npt bung welded into it from the factory with a sending unit in it.My question is do I eliminate the factory sending unit and replace it with the autometer probe,or do I "T" off of the 3/8 npt bung and use both senders?thanx so much.

is this the bung you speak of? if so i was unable to turn mine anymore to swap sending units(the probe was too close to teh linkage right there, i didnt care to grab with plires and twist a trant line. so i installed my sending unit in a test port on the passenger side. it probably reads 10-15 degrees off but oh well. the 2 coolers i run keep things fine.

the sending unit that was ther eon mine is on the top part of that brass T. mine said VDO on it. if i were to remove it and put in the autometer one it would have been too tall and hit the linkage, thats why i didnt care to bend lines or cause a leak. so i chose to use the test port on the other side of the trany. but if you have room there i woul dput the sending unit in there. more accurate reading fro sure!

yes it did but its probably aftermarket since the sender says VDO on it. i would just go buy a T and set it up like mine looks. you can see the sender on top and the sensor out the back on mine! jiMMy
