there is a delay in the shifting in my tranny, can this be adjusted...i bought the truck with a bad tranny and rebuilt it so i dont know how it felt previously.
if i am crusing down the freeway and step on it to pass, it downshifts into 3rd just fine but when i let off the gas, it takes a while to shift back into overdrive and it almost feels like the tranny is disengaged for a second and the motor revs before overdrive engages...

yes its only in overdrive but not when im going thru the gears in "normal" driving, it shifts into overdrive just fine, but when im in overdrive already and it kicks down to 3rd to pass, its when it should shift back into overdrive after my foot is off the gas that it has the delay and engine reving...its like it shifts out of 3rd but stays in neutral for a second allowing the engine to rev before overdrive kicks back in...

I don't know that I'd replace anything just yet.

Try properly adjusting the Throttle Position Sensor as well as the transmission's TV Cable first. All of which can be found in "The Sticky" seen at the top of this forum board.
