91 speedo doesnt work
bannerd bad cab grounds can cause jumping. A bad VSS plug can cause jumping. A bad connection anywhere in the VSS circuit can cause needdle jumping.
Just laying under the truck with the VSS on a drill does not give you air flow movement of the harness to show a bad connection.
The PCM reads the VSS signal for CC. It also supplies the 5 volt power feed for the VSS.
bannerd I went threw this yesterday on my truck. After about 5 hours I had a working speedo and CC agin.

The gear drive from the transfer case worked ...
The reduction gear worked ....
The drive was rounded ..... sleeved it with some thin vinyl, buttoned it up, and it works very smooth. No needle jump like before.
Just put some odometer gears in ..... try everything tomorrow.
