89 5 speed transmission getrag or no?
i have a chance to buy a good 89 cummins 5 speed dually with only 60,000but i want to know if it has the getrag or if they had a different tranny for the 89's

Getrag 5 speed or 727 Auto were the two options for that year stock, I believe.

It is a good transmission, lots of info out there on it.

Original factory manual transmission for 1989-93 Dodge/Cummins is the Getrag G360 5-speed.

1994-?? got the NewVenture NV4500 5-speed.

cool, i was worried it would not have an overdrive since it was the non intercooled 89 model. i think im going to buy it!!
