727 JUMPING OUt of gear!

My 90 3/4 ton transmission jumps out of gear when I start out kind of fast from a stop.
The engine revs up and then I put it in nuetrual and back in drive, it will will go if I take off easy.
Could this be an adjustment in the linkage?

Thanks,

Tom

I would start by looking hard at the engine mounts to see that they aren't worn/aged to the point that they let the engine lift further that it's suppose to.

Then I'd look hard at the transmission mounts for the same excessive wear and aging.

And then finally, I'd look at the shift linkage's torque lever and associated bushings for excessive wear.

All of which can add up to enough movement of the engine/transmission assembly such that it can jump out of gear when leaning on it.

I had the same problem with drag racing. Jump on it, and it'd move the shifter to neutral when it went to second gear.

Hope this helps.
