60mm Compressor Wheel

It will be here on Wednesday... I am already trying to think of excuses for work... Quick question though, I also bought the rebuild kit for the turbo which after resealing the VE looks to be a cake walk, do I have to have this dude rebalanced???? Thats the only thing I cant seem to find... Thank you very much I am excited!!

You should have no problem with the rebuild, hardest part is getting the exhaust housing of if it has been on there a while (I usually use the propane torch). Also remember that some of the shafts have left hand threads and some have right hand, you can usually see the last thread on the shaft sticking through the nut and figure it out from there.

If you want to be picky, make a mark on the shaft and compressor wheel to line them back up. More preferable is a mark on the top of the compressor wheel, and corresponding spot on the backing plate. Then do the same on the turbine side. Easier to line up with less error.

an easier way to tell if its left hand threads is to look at the nut. The nut will have a series of round indents on it. Similar to that of a grade 8 bolt but round instead of squareish.

I'm curious--are you installing this compressor wheel on your stock H1C?

yes and no, it is the stock turbo, but Im going to rebuild it when I put the compressor wheel on and I already replaced the turbine housing with a 16cm non wastegated housing.

Okay, quick question... got my compressor wheel and rebuild kit. So so excited to do this on Sunday, on the compressor wheel there is like a half moon machined cutout on the back of the wheel and then the face where the nut would meet there is a machined flat. do these have any importance to installation? Thanks guys!!!

These are cuts they make to balance the wheel. It does not make any difference for installation.
