6.7 & 5.9 VE Questions

I have some questions regarding the differences and similarities between the blocks, strokes & valves.

On the 6.7 engine,
  • the bore increased
  • the stroke increased
  • did the valves increase in size
  • and are the rockers the same or would they need to be changed if using some 6.7 parts

Does anyone know what dimensions changed on between the 5.9 & 6.7?

If the valves are larger, could the 6.7 valves be fitted to our heads after a major porting job?

Is there enough material in the 5.9 block to machine and accept 6.7 cylinders?

How much longer is the 6.7 stroke than the 5.9?

This thread got me thinking:

You can do it to a 2nd gen 24 valve so why couldn't you on a 6.7?

Just need a lot of time and money

TS125A and TS135A. There are probably a couple more but these two I have seen in person.

TS-A series 100-115-125-135.

yes thank you for reminding me. To better focus my question, the actual size of the valve (air or exhaust) increase with the displacement. Could our heads be machined to accept 6.7 intake and exhaust valves or are the valves on the 6.7 the same size as the valves on the CR 24-valve 5.9?

There are many machine shops out there that will put what ever size valve you want in your 12v head, custom valve sizes can be had from mild to wild. Just put intake valves all the way across your head. Or call Manley or Ferrea valves and have some custom made. Our tiny bores will only let us go so big, shrouding becomes a major issue after a certain point.

The 24v valves are much smaller than 12v valves being that they have to fit twice as many into the same size bore. The 6.7 has a slightly bigger bore but the valves are still smaller than ours.

Will be putting a p-pumped 6.7 into my first gen towards the end of the year. There are a few issues to consider. Connecting rods, and front cover issues along with head/p-pump interference. All have solutions. Should make a nice modest hp daily driver.
