5716s or 7226s?
5716s or 7226s?
Hey guys, I'm about to freshen up the front end of my truck and I know it needs new springs when I do so. I know this subject has been talked about on this forum and others quite a bit, but after reading everything I could I realized my needs are a little different. I definitely want to raise the front end of my sagging ol truck because of clearance issues on the jobsites, and that points me towards the 7226s springs because of the taller ride height, but the load range is a lot less. I'm worried that if I go this route, that they will start sagging sooner then the heavier duty (lower ride height) 5716s. My thoughts are a little different from the other threads I've read because I'm not looking for a smooth ride. If I want that I'll hop in my ol lady's plush riding car. (I hate the ol lady's plush riding car) The stiffer the better in my opinion. I'm always loaded pretty heavy in my line of work so I don't worry about how it rides empty. What do you guys think? Is the taller 7226s to light to retain its height in an almost always loaded work truck application? Thanks guys.
Haultruck I had the same thoughts as u. I read somewhere or was told not to go back with the stock springs because with in two yrs I'd be sagging again! I was under the impression that the 71??s springs were stock. I went with severe duty from Napa.... Not sure of the number. That was in 05 or 06 and there still standing up good.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Yeah,I knew the 7226s was for the d250, but I figured they would mount anyway. After reading the specs again I realized I was a little off on my numbers. Its only 4/10 of an inch taller, and I was thinkin 1.6 inches. Guess I should've looked closer before wasting a thread. I'm getting the 5716s spring for sure. 3 inches? That's more than I'd hoped for, awesome! Thanks for the input man.
